Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, which processes data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Every time you open a page, the server automatically records technical data in log files: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, the amount of data transferred, the status of the request, and your browser and operating system.

I need this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and find errors. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The log files are not combined with other data and are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for these purposes.

Contact

If you write to me by email or use the form on the contact page, I use your message and email address only to answer you. The form sends your question to me by email, nothing is stored in the website’s database. To prevent spam, the server keeps a pseudonymised form of your IP address (a hash) for one hour to limit the number of messages.

The legal basis is the preparation or performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) or my legitimate interest in answering your enquiry and protecting the form from abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). I delete your messages once your enquiry is settled, unless statutory retention periods under commercial or tax law require me to keep them.

Password-protected projects

Some client projects are confidential. When you enter a password, WordPress sets a cookie named “wp-postpass_…” so you don’t have to enter it again. It contains only a hashed, unreadable form of the password and expires after 10 days. “Request password” simply opens your own email program.

Cookies and storage in your browser

This website only stores what is technically necessary for the functions you use (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Nothing is used for tracking or shared with third parties.

  • sz-lang (cookie, 1 year): remembers whether you see the English or the German version. Set on your first visit and when you switch the language.
  • wp-postpass_… (cookie, 10 days): only if you open a password-protected project, see above.
  • sz-theme (local storage): light or dark mode, only if you switch it.
  • sz-cookie-ok (local storage): remembers that you closed the notice.
  • sz-embed-ok (local storage): remembers that you agreed to load YouTube videos. After that, videos start muted when you scroll to them. Delete it in your browser to withdraw your consent.
  • sz-nav, sz-close (session storage): direction of the page transition, deleted when you close the tab.

Local and session storage stay in your browser and are never sent to the server. You can delete everything at any time in your browser settings.

Fonts, images and videos

All fonts, images and videos are loaded from this server. No connection is made to Google Fonts, content delivery networks or other external services.

YouTube videos

Embedded videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load when you click “Play video”, before that no data is sent to YouTube. After the click, YouTube receives data such as your IP address and browser information, may store information in your browser, and data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. By clicking you consent to this (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). More at policies.google.com/privacy.

Links to other websites

Links to LinkedIn or other websites are plain links. Data only reaches these providers when you click, from then on their privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). Just write to hello@serkanzararsiz.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
